A virtual assistant can save a business time and money, increase productivity, and ultimately help a company meet deadlines. No longer bound by brick and mortar, savvy businesses across the country are learning the value of employee resources working from their homes.
Having worked at different law firms over the years, I have always valued the importance of helping clients, the preciseness of wording in documents, and the organization and systems required to meet client and court deadlines. These attributes are essential to all businesses, and I would like to help your company by applying my years of experience and working as your virtual assistant.
I was employed in various office settings over the years before I started at a law firm looking for someone with excellent office skills but no legal experience. Eventually, I moved to another law firm, where I became the default office manager and bookkeeper in addition to my legal assistant duties.
While I was employed full-time at this law firm, I pursued an associate degree in Paralegal Studies and completed this goal in 2014. Working on my degree online and my expanding abilities to handle certain work tasks over the Internet planted the seed of the possibility of someday starting my own business as a virtual assistant. The skills that I learned during those years are what I have to offer my clients – my ability to work independently and the importance of being organized.
Just a bit more about me (and the attributes you might be looking for in a virtual assistant):
- Thorough – Typos in books, magazines, and other written material always stick out like a sore thumb to me.
- Attention to detail – As a very young child, I would do word searches even before I could read.
- Ingenuity – On a four-lane highway, before the days of cell phones, I had to fix my muffler with a string of paperclips I happened to have with me from a work project I had brought home. Also, I was only ten minutes late for work.
- Independent learner – I taught myself how to drive a manual transmission car.
- Dependable – Much like the postman’s credo, I have always gone to work in any weather, even the ice storms in Central Pennsylvania.
- Ability to research, design, and implement a plan – I completed a full kitchen remodel, from tearing down a wall to replacing the countertops and flooring. Thank you, YouTube!
